Hi! ^_^ after reading some SEO e-books and tutorials, I encountered many questions about SEO. Like, what will make me on top? Or what are the factors that determine my position in the natural listing for a specific key phrase? And what is their relative importance?

Again, what is Search engine optimization?

Wikipedia says that, Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the volume and quality of traffic to a web site from search engines via “natural” (”organic” or “algorithmic”) search results for targeted keywords. Usually, the earlier a site is presented in the search results or the higher it “ranks”, the more searchers will visit that site. SEO can also target different kinds of search, including image search, local search, and industry-specific vertical search engines.

Seomoz.org - SEO is the active practice of optimizing a web site by improving internal and external aspects in order to increase the traffic the site receives from search engines.

wilshirepr.com - Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is an Online marketing technique that targets keywords and phrases related to a website, and aims to rank that site high in the search engines when a user searches on those keywords and phrases. This is a dynamic, complicated task. It is changing all the time and it is an ongoing battle.

According to SEO Best Practice Guide 2007 of e-consultancy.com there is a six ranking factors…

1. Planning and strategy including setting performance targets.
2. Index inclusion and coverage.
3. On-page optimization.
4. Link-building (internal and External)
5. SEO process
6. Conversion efficiency.

Those at the heart of search engine ranking are success factors 2, 3 and 4. Because, if your pages are not included within the index then you cannot expect to gain any search engine referrals. Once included, search results are dependent on the combination of On-page optimization and link-building.

Have you ever heard about SEO or Search Engine Optimization? Well, since the number of searches by people trying to find information is still growing dramatically, the SEO is becoming more popular to every Webmaster, Internet Marketer and blogger nowadays.

SEO which is also known as Organic listing is a part of Search Engine Marketing (SEM) that aimed at achieving the highest position practically possible in the organic listing on the search engine results pages (SERP).

Unlike the other type of SEM, SEO is free. There is no charge for organic to be displayed, nor when a link to your site is clicked on. So I think I need to learn this SEO thing because I don’t have money to spend on advertising.

I never dream to become an expert in SEO, I just want to learn something about it.

Yesterday I’m so happy because all the bloggers that are included on my friendly tag have visited on my blog and leave some comment. But as I looked at the upper part of my internet explorer I noticed that the pagerank in google toolbar is now purely white and the alt says no pagerank information available. What the heck!

I know that this situation is not new to you, since many blogger already experienced this. And somehow loosing PR1 is not a dramatic story compared to the other blogger who have PR5 or PR4 then became PR0 after the pagerank update.

Still, I’m not feeling well about it. because, I’m the kind of person who, for example, I have a hundred sheeps and one of them disappears, I will try to find where that sheep is, no matter what.

But in this case hmmmn, I know where my PR is, it’s gone…
And there’s nothing I can do with that. Wish me luck next time.
